It’s easy to fall behind on your vaccinations and immunizations in Newark and Wilmington when you’re busy, unsure what you need, or overdue for your annual wellness exam.
At Preventive Primary Care, we keep you on track with next-day vaccine appointments, giving you clear guidance from providers who know your health, your risks, and your long-term needs.
Led by Dr. Anthony Alfieri, a cardiologist with 30+ years of healthcare experience, our all-female team uses their backgrounds in primary care, cardiology, geriatrics, and internal medicine to help you make informed vaccine decisions.
With next-day appointments, new patients always welcome, and a range of insurance plans accepted, we make it easier to keep yourself healthy and protected, year after year.
Whether you’re due for a routine vaccine or trying to stay ahead of seasonal illness, our team can help you understand what you need and when.
We offer vaccines for adults 18 and older, with guidance based on your age, medical history, and risk factors:
Flu vaccines are typically recommended every year, while COVID-19 vaccine guidance may vary based on your age, health risks, and current recommendations.
Most adults need one dose of the Tdap vaccine, especially if they will be around newborns, followed by a Td or Tdap booster every 10 years to maintain protection against tetanus and diphtheria.
Shingles vaccination is generally recommended for adults 50 and older, while pneumonia vaccine timing depends on your age, vaccine history, and certain health conditions.
HPV vaccination is typically recommended through age 26, and some adults ages 27 to 45 may be eligible based on their medical history and provider guidance.
Depending on your destination, you may need travel vaccines such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, meningococcal, rabies, cholera, or Japanese encephalitis.
You shouldn’t have to put off a vaccine visit because the next available appointment is weeks away.
We offer next-day appointments whenever possible, so you can stay current on your immunizations and get care when you need it.
Appointment requests received before 3pm will be scheduled for the next business day, and our office is closed Saturday and Sunday.

She answered all my questions and walked me through any concerns I had. My one issue is it can be hard to get responses back from the admin in the office at times.
